Come learn about GIP on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 6PM-7:30PM at the Grant R. Brimhall Library (1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks, California). The 12/12/12 event is a great one full of new and exciting things. GIP will honor all tweens who have decided to take on a new journey of success through self-discovery, self-awareness, self-respect, and empowerment. For the past 10 weeks, these tweens have been taking part in a series of skill-building workshops developed by Girls in Power and sponsored by the local community. GIP will also be giving a big thank you to the special community members who helped through being a sponsor, a donor, a GIP guest teacher, a GIP volunteer and GIP staff members. If not for them, this program would not be possible.
There will be an opportunity to meet the young women who have participated in the workshop series as well as the volunteers and founder of GIP, Melinda Crown. Pictures and videos will also be shown highlighting the teens and volunteers amazing experience.
For the FIRST time ever, GIP will be giving an exclusive showing of its very FIRST PSA, “Silent No More”, to those who attend then event. The PSA will also be released to the public on 12/12/12.
